You could try the normal, OTC accessories like colourful hairbands, clips, scrunchies, clasps, bobby pins and slides.

Or, go bold and use funky-looking chopsticks, or even dry twigs to hold your hair. Embroider a length of jute and use it to tie your hair. Alternatively, use your mother's scarf or stole or even your handkerchief as a hairband. For added glam, sweep some glitter or hair mascara in luminous shades to add oomph to your tresses.

Sometimes, I attach flowers or curious-looking leaves on my regular clips and embellish my hair with them.

Except for the boring stuff they have in the shops, try being inventive and go with fake flowers on pins (to be found in bridal stores or ebay), or fake flowers/vine leaves pinned in your hair. If you check the martha stewart website they also show you how to make hairpins out of plain buttons. You can also go for a medieval look and use ribbons when braiding your hair. The options are endless!
