How can i make a dress that's just not me cool [accessories et cetera...]?

It's a lilac dress that i am getting altered at the moment... but it's still not me. If you have any suggestions please tell me, and attatch any websites, links, etc.

I have fairly pale skin and dark hair if that helps at all :)

P.S; With the alterations the skirt will be slanted, and there will be iridescent indigo-ish material on top of it... and there will be a indigo ribbon just above the waist.
